Abby Fields, Rotary Student of the Month

ACHS is proud to present Miss Abby Fields, daughter of Ricky and Kimberly Fields, as one of our Rotary Students of the Month. Abby is a leader at Alcorn Central through academics, community involvement and extracurricular activities. She is always positive and willing to get involved.

Abby is currently ranked first in her graduating class and her academic achievements include:  1st place awards in Chemistry, U.S. History, Health, Algebra 2,  English II;  2nd place awards in Eng I and Dual Credit Eng Comp I. 

Abby has very little down time her senior year because she is taking a full class load which includes:  Government and Econ, Physics,  Dual Credit:  English Comp II, and Dual Credit College Algebra plus she has a very active role with our annual staff and works at Roger Supermarket in Corinth. 

In spite of Abby’s busy academic schedule she has found time to participate in extracurricular activities and clubs. She has been a member of the Beta Club for 3 years and served as Reporter last year, she has been an active member of the Future Business Leaders of America for 3 years taking third place in Parliamentary procedures at district in 2014-2015 and last year 1st place in banking and finance at district and 4th place in banking and finance at state.  She is currently a Student Government representative and has held class offices the past three years. Over the span of Abby’s high school career she has been active with FCA, Spanish Club, Math club, Academic Team, Art club and Year Book Staff. 

The sports she has enjoyed being a part of include Basketball for 2 years and she  is currently a member of our Bowling team.

Honors and Awards Abby has received are:  Selected to attend Mississippi Governors School, ACHS Top Ten, Alliance Junior Leadership Alcorn Graduate, Citizenship Award, Principal Leadership Council, finalist in speech and 3rd place in song leading at Lads to Leaders, and Good Samaritan Platinum Service award for three years running at Lads to Leaders. 

Abby has 92-hrs of Community Service!  She has been on the

•         Nicaragua Mission trip in 2014 with Strickland Church of Christ youth group

•         Helped with ACHS Campus clean up

•         Currently Mentors students in the Community Connections Mentoring Program (2015-present)

•         Active member of Strickland Church of Christ youth group  (2011-2015)

•         Volunteered at Hog Wild

After Abby graduates high school, she plans to attend Freed Hardeman to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry.

Abby is one busy young lady who is focused on going places! We are so proud to have had her representing Alcorn Central as a Rotary Student of the month.
